Commissioner
The Manitoba Premier Softball League (MPSL) is seeking an organized, motivated, and passionate individual to serve as Commissioner for the league.
This role is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of league operations and will play a key role in ensuring the league runs smoothly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule, prepare, and chair all League business meetings.
- Exercise the powers of the Executive in the case of an emergency.
- Prepare an annual operating budget for the League in collaboration with the Treasurer, subject to Board approval.
- Establish and maintain a balanced regular season schedule.
- Establish and maintain the annual League tournament schedule.
- Manage the League website, including posting schedules and league information.
- Manage the League’s social media accounts.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the MPSL Board of Directors, consisting of seven representatives from each AAA organization in the province.
Compensation:
This role receives an honorarium of $2,000 per year, payable in two equal installments:
- June 30
- December 31
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be well-organized, comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, and have strong communication and time management skills. Familiarity with softball operations or sport administration is considered an asset.
